1222. Year of the first African Human Rights Declaration. 1 p.In 1222, Soundiata Keita, the ruler of the empire of Mali – also called Mandé - proclaimed the Charter of Mandé - or the Oath of Mandé - at the occasion of his coronation. It was the result of a joint effort by elders, noblemen and associations ("ton") of the country, who had – commissioned by the king - elaborated the principles according to which the empire should be ruled.

Effectivement c'était en 1222 que Soundiata Keita, alors souverain de l'empire du Mali, proclama la "Charte 198 du Mandé" - ou le "Serment du Mandé" lors de son intronisation. Auparavant il avait demandé aux notables et confréreries (les "ton") du pays d'élaborer les règles qui devaient régir la vie commune des habitants de l'Empire.

1910. Convention internationale relative à la répression de la traite des blanches(White Slave Convention). 7 p. Not more in force. In French. This old Convention made in Europe is the first one of the 20th Century about trafficking. It focuses on sex work and prohibits the traffic of girls (under 20 years old), even with her consent. Trafficking of women without her consent. is also prohibited. There is also a clause of extradition.
